Simple as that!!" Head over to Extreme Makeover: Me Edition and join in by linking up! Now on to the question for this week:
What's your favorite beauty secret?
I know this has nothing to do with losing weight, per se, but on the other hand, it has everything to do with feeling good about yourself. So, in a sense, they go hand in hand.

My beauty tips are pretty simple, I don't have a lot of time for fuss!
1) Hydrate! I can always tell if I am not getting enough water because everything feels so dry, like I am talking middle of the Mohave Desert-been walking for days-looking for a drop of water - dry. My skin feels horrible if I don't get enough water, not to mention I start to get really dehydrated and feel like crap from the inside out. So I try to drink at least 4 glasses of water a day...at the very least!
2) Soak Up Some Sun! I am not, in any way advocating you skip the sunscreen...although I admittedly don't use it as often as I should - but what I am talking about is, get outside and sit in the sun for a bit. Get that good ol' vitamin D! It helps me tremendously. If I don't get the time in the sun every few days I start to notice that I get depressed.
3) Go Au'Natural every now and then! I can't believe I am going to admit this to all of the blogging world...I do not shave everyday. I can't. It irritates my skin something fierce. So, I have started using Veet for my underarms and legs once a week. It keeps my legs and underarms (my mother would be mortified if I said 'pits' instead of underarms - lol)smooth and prickle free for at least 3-4 days, then I Veet again at about 5 or 6 days.
4) Less Is More! I used to wear a face full of makeup every single day, but I just don't have that kind of time, or frankly the energy to do all that mess. So, I usually just do a quick 5 minutes and ready to go. You want to know my quick routine? I moisturize with Philosophy's Hope In A Jar with SPF 25

next is blush, I am not really particular about my blush, but I ALWAYS wear just a bit of blush on the apples of my cheeks, chin, nose and forehead. After that its concealer, which I learned within days of delivering my daughter would become my new best friend and oh boy has it! I just dab a tiny bit under my eyes to brighten them up, not too much or you will look like a racoon and let's face it that is not an attractive look. After that I use mascara, I love Clinique mascara's or my other favorite is Fresh - Supernova, I get it at Sephora and its a little pricey ($25 a tube) but I have sensitive eyes and it is one of the only mascara's that doesn't irritate my eyes.

After that I just slather on the gloss, I am totally a gloss girl, and I am done!
Those are my beauty tips for the day, what are yours?

I agree with the hydrating. I can't wear much makeup b/c my skin is so oily and it's so HOT down here! I may check out that philopsphy product...
ReplyDeleteGreat tips...thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a bigh make-up girl myself, but I think I might try the concealer under the eyes!
Love love love Philosophy products. I can't soak up the sun with you, but I'll sit under my umbrella and hang out with you while we drink our water.
ReplyDelete:)
Glad you're joining EMME.
Great tips!
ReplyDeleteWater seems to be a common theme today!
Have a great week!
You know, I've always been curious about Veet! After reading this, I just might give it a shot!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tips!
I might try that Veet stuff as my skin is very sensitive, too.
ReplyDeletegreat tips!
:) Jen
blush, gloss and mascara....the big three!
ReplyDeleteI tried veet a few years back....I might should try it again. I am still laughing at the whole pit/underarm thing. :)
Fabulous tips! I've been considering trying Veet, and now that I've heard from a real person that it actually works, I'm going to go get some!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Fun tips! I use Burt's Bees Baby Buttermilk lotion for my skin...it's light and soothing! And great for sensitive skin!
ReplyDeleteGreat tips! Mascara is my best friend. Sometimes that's all you need. :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful, thanks for sharing all of your lovely tips!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the less is more type. I used to have to have my face entirely made up before walking out of the house. Now if I have my mascara and some lipstick or gloss, I'm fine. And it's usually put on in the car!
Totally agree on the water too, must have my H2O!
Good tips! I dont shave my legs every day either shhhhhh. And I dont Veet even. I shave my legs twice a week, I know gross but I am too lazy! Oh well
ReplyDeleteGreat tips. I am so glad you like the Philosophy line. I don't know what I would do without it.
ReplyDeleteHi there! Great tips. I follow pretty much the same beauty routine. I love blush and put it on my cheeks, forehead and eyes to give my face some color. I like the more natural look.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work!
XOXO
Jen
My favorite beauty product is my concealer. If I had to go without it, I would scare the small children!
ReplyDeleteYou know I do agree w/ the shaving thing. I go a few days a week w/o shaving the ole legs.. maybe 1 or 2.. just to give them a break. I've been rubbin a razor down them for years.. that's probably not good for them!
ReplyDeleteGreat tips! I don't wear much makeup myself because my skin gets so oily but when I do I like to keep it light and "barely there."
ReplyDeleteOh I love EMME. It's so much fun!
