In 2012 I am starting to focus on my 40 by 40 list, 40 things I want to accomplish by the time I am 40 years old. One of those things is to read 500 books, so 100 books a year for the next 5 years. I think that is totally doable! Another thing on the list is to read all the books I should have read in high school (To Kill a Mockingbird, Catcher in the Rye, Of Mice and Men...) but didn't because I was home-schooled and we didn't have the normal required reading of secular high schools. So I thought I would start off the year with a few of the books on the my reading list for the beginning of the year.
I'm hoping to get through all of these in January and February! I know, it's a big list and that's a lot of reading, but I'm looking forward to spending more time reading and getting lost in a really great book more often. It is something I have missed. I really want reading to be something that my daughter will fall in love with as I have and that she will forever love books. What are some of your favorite books? What's on your reading list for the new year?

I wanna read the host.
ReplyDeleteI'm finishing up the last House of night book now and then going to Blue Bloods.( I read the 1st already.) then maybe onto the host.
I just finished The Help. It was good but took me a really long time to read it. I have the last books in both The Hunger Games and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo to finish so those will the first ones I read in 2012.
ReplyDeleteThe Hunger Games trilogy is sooo good! I plan on re-reading them before the movie comes out!
ReplyDeleteThe Help was good, but I almost wish I would have read it before all the hype... :S
The Host is on my list too!
I read The Help and LOVE it, but I have yet to see the movie. I am going to start The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo series next.
ReplyDeleteThe Host is such a good book! I probably need to read less and do other things instead but I love a good book!
ReplyDeleteYou will LOVE The Hunger Games series. In fact, you should just get them all at once because you'll want to go right from the other. Just sayin'. :) You'll have no problems speeding through them.
ReplyDeleteFound your blog thru the guest post, and I am commenting way down here cause I was being nosy and reading older posts. ;)
Also, THANK GOODNESS there are others out there who read YA. I'm right there with ya!
