Accessories Swap Reveal!

I have been a swappin' fool the last month and it's time to reveal what I got from my Accessories Swap partner! Lena from Mom 2 Memphis and Ruby hosted an Accessories swap and partnered me up with Amber from Sneakers over Stilettos! I love me some accessories so this sounded like a really fun swap, besides how much fun is it to get packages in the mail that are neither junk nor bills!! Plus I always love to see what a total stranger would pick out for me knowing very little about me. It makes it that much more fun because often they choose colors or designs you would never choose for yourself but end up loving! As is the case with this gorgeous bracelet that Amber made me!

Amber, thank you so much for my bracelet, I love it so much! And Lena, thank you so much for thinking up and hosting such a fun swap!!

Oh, How Pinteresting!

40 By 40

Today is my birthday, and in honor of that I am going to post my 40 by 40 list. I have seen a few bloggers with lists of 30 by 30 and things like that so I decided to do one but mine is 40 by 40.  It scares me that I am close enough to 40 to have this list! haha

40 By 40

*These are in no particular order, just things I would like to do or see by the time I am 40 (in 5 years!GAH!)

Get completely out of debt! We are well on our way, just finished paying off one credit card and another will be paid off around tax return time.

Get healthy and fit and maintain it!

Move to Mt Vernon IA

Visit every state in the Western US (CA, OR, WA, NV, UT, WY, MT, ID, CO) (we won't count AZ since we live here!)

Build up a healthy savings account (meaning more than 6 months worth of living expenses)

Continue working on my family ancestry, go as far back as I can.  Figure out exactly how I am related to a hockey legend!

Read all of the classics I should have read while in high school

Upgrade all of my camera gear

Open a small business that will generate enough income to buy a new car

Get family photos taken yearly (we haven't had a professional family photo taken since Princess was 18 months old!)

Renew my wedding vows with Hubby ♥

Update our furniture.  I want all brand new items that we have picked out - no more hand me downs.

Put Princess in ballet and a music class

Get the matching tattoo's with hubby that we've been planning

Go on a couples only vacation with the hubby

Take Princess to her first ever concert (I'm thinking Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez or dare I say it, Bieber)

Take a cooking class

Go to a big blogging conference (Blogher, Blissdom...you get the idea)

Write a book.

Print and scrapbook important photos from the last 10 years that include wedding, pregnancy, childbirth, family life, vacations.

Train for and complete a marathon in 4 hours or less

Learn to dance (ballroom, salsa)

Learn to knit.

Plan, implement and reap the rewards of a successful garden!

Take a girls only trip with Princess

Take a family trip to Connecticut to show Princess and Hubby where I am originally from.

Take a cruise with the family

Get my teeth fixed

Finish getting all the piercings I want (industrial, nipples done...again)

Take a trip to New Orleans

Take a trip to New York City

Travel somewhere that I will need a passport to get there

Go to a Red Wings game in Joe Louis Arena

Take 2-3 small vacations a year

Provide a nice Christmas for a family in need

Donate $5000 to either American Cancer Society or Hospice of the Valley ( or $2500 a piece for each of them )

Help pay the bills so Hubby can go back to school for his medic

Get skin removal surgery after I lose the weight I need to lose

Go to Hawaii on vacation

Read 500 books by my 40th birthday!!

And there you have it! Now I will save this list so I can start marking things off and making all these things reality. Why don't you make your own list and let's help encourage each other to reach achieve our dreams!

Top 3 Beauty Products

I am always searching for beauty products that will help my skin keep that youthful glow ;). The older I get I am finding my skin changing again and needing to change up my skin care routine or just the products that I have been using. I recently found Kandee, a makeup artist in L.A. who has worked on movies and tv shows. She does vlogs about her favorite products and makeup tutorials and all kinds of fun stuff. One of the vlogs I watched was of her nighttime skincare routine. And I decided to try a couple of the items she uses, boy am I glad I did!!

Peach Willowbark Deep Pore Scrub

Kandee uses a different scrub, but I found this one and I love it! My face feels so soft and smooth after I use this scrub. I haven't had as many breakouts since I started using this product either and that is fantastic. Nothing worse than being a 35 year old woman with an acne problem like a teenager!

Alba Un-Petroleum Jelly

I got this product at Whole Foods, I think it was like $6.50 for a tube. I use this at night after I have cleaned my face with a baby wipe, no joke! After the baby wipe, I use witch hazel to get anything left behind from the wipe and then I slather on this un-petroleum jelly. It feels REALLY weird at first and does take some getting used to having this thick layer of jelly on your face. But if you can get past that and sleep with it on your skin will feel plump and amazing in the morning! I was really surprised I gotta say. LOL. I thought man, Kandee has got to be out of her mind - no way will this really make that big of a difference. But I have been using it for over a week and the difference in my skin is amazing.

Witch Hazel

Again, something that I didn't think would make that big of a difference really has made a huge impact. My skin feels tighter and looks so much more clear when I use all of these products together.

The best thing is that all of these products are so much cheaper than what I had been using!! Like a lot cheaper, so I am getting bigger benefits for less cash and that rocks in my book.

Friday Confessional

I Confess...

I put up all of our Christmas decor the first week of November. I can't help it I love Christmas!!

I Confess...

I am so glad that November is almost over! November is a crazy busy birthday month in our family. Including friends we have a birthday EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. in November! Insanity. Those birthday's include my mom, my daughter, my niece and me. I'm the last one on the 30th and while I am not excited about the number I will be turning I much prefer it to the alternative!! So, 35 bring it on!

I Confess...

We haven't had a Thanksgiving this year. Major family issues and no one could get their stuff together so the three of us (Hubby, me and Princess) are hosting Thanksgiving on Saturday with some close friends. That will be our Thanksgiving. I think my parents might make an appearance but I don't know for sure at this point.

I Confess...

My daughter let me sleep in til almost 11 this morning! She got up and took a shower and fed herself and the dog!

What do you have to confess today?

The Best Way To Spread Christmas Cheer...

We watch Christmas movies all year long...don't judge, we just love Christmas! So I thought that now that we are so close to Christmas I would share my top 5 Christmas movies! If you haven't seen any of these you are missing out, go run to Target and grab them up!!

Elf is by far my favorite Christmas movie, it never ceases to put me in a good mood. I mean, how can you be in a bad mood with Buddy the Elf?!

Oh my gosh, The Holiday. I could watch this movie over and over and over. And yes, I may have watched this movie every single night while waiting for Hubby to get off work when he worked mid-shift.

Oh White Christmas, how can you have a favorite list of Christmas movies and not include White Christmas? ♥

The Santa Clause! This was the very first movie we ever took Princess to in the theater. We love all three movies, but I gotta say Jack Frost annoys me with his naughty behavior! haha

The Polar Express just makes me want to snuggle up with my baby girl and drink hot chocolate while we watch.

Hubby and I love the Home Alone movies but we haven't let Princess watch them yet. Maybe next year so for now, Hubby and I watch these after Princess goes to bed.

What are your favorite holiday movies? Leave me a comment with your favorites, I'm always looking for great movies!

Happy Birthday Baby!

Well, it's happened. My beautiful baby girl has turned seven! ACK! Where have the years gone? I just don't understand how the time goes so fast. One minute we were in the hospital and the doctor announced to me, ' Congratulations, It's a GIRL!' to which I responded, 'it's a WHAT?!'...

See, I had four ultrasounds when I was pregnant and all four they told me 80% sure it's a BOY. So, guess what we did. We painted the room blue, with firetrucks and dalmatians all over it. I had all the boy clothes and of course washed them all. We had been talking to the baby and calling 'him' by the boy name we had picked out (Colin Stephen) the whole pregnancy. So when the doctor said to me Congrats it's a GIRL I was pretty surprised! hahaha. Lucky for us, we picked out a boy and a girl name when I first found out I was pregnant so the baby went from being Colin Stephen to Hannah Elizabeth.

My daughter is an amazing person. She is beautiful, caring, loving, intelligent, generous, hilarious and my life is fuller because of her. She is just like me in attitude and is full of sass that will serve her well as an adult but can be frustrating for her parents to deal with! LOL

This year we had a crazy busy weekend full of festivities. It all started Friday morning with us bringing cupcakes to her class for them to celebrate her birthday. Saturday we had two parties. My nieces birthday falls on Thanksgiving this year so my brother and SIL had B's party yesterday afternoon. Hannah and I went to that while Hubby was stuck at work. Then Hannah and I had to rush home, but we were able to pick Hubby up from work (he got off early, yay!). We had some last minute stuff to take care of before family and friends were to come over for a bbq.

After a fun filled night with friends and family and food and cake and presents it was time to crash! Today was Hannah's actual birthday. She slept in (thank God!) and then had asked Hubby to make a big breakfast of bacon, eggs, biscuits and gravy and sausage. So he got to work on that and we snuggled. After breakfast we just kind of lounged around the house and opened some of her gifts and she wanted to use the new easel and paints/brushes we got her.

We all pitched in to help clean up the house from last nights party, it went pretty quickly since the mess was contained to the toy room. And when I say mess, that is the understatement of the century.

Everything is back in order except the toy room. That's gonna take a while. lol. I'm ok with it though. I told the kids as long as that is the only room that was trashed I won't complain. haha

After we cleaned the house, Hubby had to do an oil change on the car so Hannah and I went and had some girl time. She showered then we did a face mask and mani/pedi's.

Shortly after that it was time to head out to Peter Piper Pizza for the second and last birthday party of the weekend for her. I had told her she could invite her 2 best friends from school, T and M. So the three of them and their parents came to PPP to celebrate with us as well as Aunt Cat (one of my BFF's).

And now, we are done for another year. Mama and her baby girl. I love you my sweet baby girl ♥
