Happy New Year 2013
I am spending my New Years Eve in my bed, all comfy in my jammies with my hair up in a bun. Yep, livin' it up here! Hubby is working in the ER and my daughter and I are stuck at home. We watched the ball drop at 10 on the news and then I sent her to bed. She was tired and mama needed some quiet! lol
Anyhoo, since I have this quiet time to myself now I thought I'd waste some time on Polyvore! Woot!
I am envisioning this outfit for a Girl's Night Out - this is something I would LOVE to wear for a night out and I'm not talking to the grocery store ladies! I very rarely get a night out to go to a bar or dancing or hell even to dinner with girlfriends, but if I did this is the outfit I would rock.
Stay safe lovelies! I wish you all health, wealth and happiness in abundance in the New Year.

Recap from The Nutcracker Ballet
A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to take my husband and daughter to see The Moscow Ballet's Great Russian Nutcracker performance. What a special treat!!
I had been to see the Nutcracker when I was 18 with a group of my girlfriends. My husband and daughter had never been to the ballet so it really was a special thing for our family to experience together.
The day was cold and rainy, which is a rarity here in Phoenix. We spent all day lounging around snuggling until it was time to get ready to go. I thought it would be fun to take the train downtown if the rain let up by the time we needed to get downtown. Fortunately it did and there was just a slight drizzle when we got on the train. However, we forgot the umbrella in the car and when we got off the train the rain had picked up a bit and we had to walk 2 blocks to the theatre in the rain. #fail
Luckily, we got to the theatre and got to our seats with no trouble. As we sat waiting for the ballet to start we talked and joked with each other and tried to keep Hannah from asking 89736282 times when the show would start.
We did have a little issue with Hannah complaining that she couldn't see once the people in front of us took their seats. The people were understanding though and moved a bit so that she could see. That was very nice of them. Once intermission started we struck up a conversation with them and discovered it was a daughter with her parents who had been bringing her to the ballet since she was 2 and she was now in her 30's. Her name was also Hannah!
The ballet was beautiful and Hannah loved it so that made the walking in the rain and all that worth it. I am so grateful for the experiences I get to share with her and seeing things through her eyes.

Silence and Support for Sandy Hook
Yesterday, tragedy struck so many of us in ways we did not foresee. An elementary school and small town in Connecticut was shattered by a mass shooting. We knew we wanted to help and we came up with this:

On Tuesday, December 18th, there will be a blogger day of silence. We will post the button and that's it. Please try to not post anything else that day if possible.
We are also raising money that will go to an organization in the memory of this tragedy. The organization is called The Newtown Family Youth and Family Services.

We can't imagine how they must be feeling, especially this close to the holidays. We would love for you to spread the word on your own blog, Facebook, Twitter, etc. Let's make a difference and use blogging in a positive way.
Thank you in advance for participating.
Love,

Makeup Tutorial
So, I thought I would show you my actual routine on applying 'my face' as I like to call it!

Step 1: Start out with a clean face. I use a baby wipe, witch hazel and then a moisturizer in the morning and at night and then in the shower I use a scrub.
Step 2: Sheer primer. I haven't always used a primer but since I tried it I use it more often than not now because I can totally see what a difference it makes for how my makeup looks.
Step 3: Foundation. I used to just use a tinted moisturizer but as I've gotten older I have noticed that foundation gives me better coverage.
Step 4: Illiminating creme`. I love this stuff. It just gives me that youthful glow to my skin and I love it.
Step 5: Concealer. Now, this is one of the new items I just got to try from the Hard Candy line. This stuff is no joke. It covers tattoo's and completely hides those deep dark circles I get under my eyes. It is thick so make sure you just get a little dab for under your eyes or else you will end up with huge white circles instead of the dark ones.

Step 6: Powder. I use a matte powder.
Step 7: Blush. I use a blush color wheel by NYC. I just like the way this blush matches my skin tone. It's not too pink or orange.
Step 8: Brows. I usually use a brow powder to just fill in my brows.

Step 9: Shadows. I generally use 2-3 shadows and more often than not I stick with neutral colors and don't get too crazy with my eye shadow.
Step 10: Liner. I just got this liquid liner from Hard Candy and I love it. My all time favorite liquid liner is Kat Von D's tattoo liner but I can't always afford the $18 price tag so I decided to try this one from HC and I love it.
Step 11: Curl 'dem lashes. I ALWAYS curl my lashes. Just makes my eyes look more open and awake.
Step 12: Mascara. I tried this Hard Candy mascara a couple of months ago and I love it.

Last but not least a little lip butter to finish off my face ;) I hope y'all enjoyed seeing my little review and pics!
