Sally Hansen #IHeartMyNailArt

I'm a member of the Collective Bias® Social Fabric® Community. This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper insights study for Collective Bias and their client.

Hello lovelies! I hope the summer is treating you all well so far ;) We have been having a lot of pool time and movies, along with anything else that keeps us indoors and out of the heat! One of those things is doing at home mani's! I know I've shared before how my daughter and I love to do at home mani/pedi's and so when I was presented with the opportunity to do a Sally Hansen #IHeartMyNailArt project I was ALL OVER it!

Hannah and I got ourselves ready and headed out to Walgreens to check out the Sally Hansen section and choose our polish, pen, nail strips or whatever else we could use to create a fun summer time look.

I knew I wanted bright colors and something more funky than what I normally do and let me tell you, the selection of Sally Hansen products to chose from was impressive. They had the biggest display and a wide variety of different types of polish, as well as the many different colors.

Hannah looked at literally every single type of polish before we agreed on the colors and the nail pen we ended up getting.

The colors we eventually decided on were part of the Complete Salon Manicure collection. We both loved these bright colors and couldn't resist pairing them with the neon green nail pen! The colors are 390 Firey Island and 570 Water Color with the Chartreuse nail pen.   Right now at Walgreens you can pick up any 2 Complete Salon Manicure polish's for $10 (6/2-6/29) which is a smokin hot deal!

We got our tools that we need to prepare our nails. This is always our first steps, clipping and filing and then doing our toes first. But I won't show you the pics of the toes since so many people have a thing about feet ;)

I did 2 coats of each color on my nails just to make sure that there wasn't any of my nail bed showing through the color. I noticed that with one coat you could see some of my natural nail showing through but 2 coats was perfect. After the nails were dry I cleaned up the polish from the edges and just made sure everything was gone that wasn't supposed to be there!

After waiting about 20 minutes so the polish was sure to be dry, I grabbed the Sally Hansen nail pen and decided to just do a combination of designs instead of one specific design for all of the nails. I did diagonal stripes, a bunch of polka dots, vertical stripes, 3 dots and a paint splatter. If you know me, you know I typically just stick with light colors (pinks/nudes) and do an accent nail with glitter more often than not. So this manicure is way out of the norm for me! But I really love these colors and the designs I chose to use. I feel really summery and I have gotten a ton of comments on how cool my nails look!

So, let this be a lesson to all of you who typically stick with neutral colors...open yourself up and try something that you wouldn't normally do, you just might find you love it!

I love this outfit with this manicure, it screams fabulous summer to me!

Summer Fun

What do you think? What colors are you feeling right now? Any hot trends you are looking forward to trying? Don't forget there are some great sales on Sally Hansen products at Walgreens for the month of June!
